Movie night #37
MOVIE NIGHT #37
MOVIE OF THE MONTH: Lightyear
Date: May 27 (Sat)
Time: 6:15-9:00 pm
4 Teens will be hosting the kids under our supervision. Donations will go towards sending them to this year’s teen leadership camp in Calgary in August.
Parents get a little break and the kids get to have a lot of fun!
The movie will be played in the dojo, so that we have lots of room and space will be limited to 20 kids. This is a great opportunity for all the kids to meet outside of class, eat some snacks together, socialize and create stronger connections. We will provide the popcorn, homemade lemonade, take time to play games and watch a show.
Drop off for movie nights is after 6:00pm. Pick up is between 8:45 and 9:00 pm.
Movie nights are by donation.
Fundraiser results!
Thank you for participating in our fundraiser to send 4 of our teens to Calgary for a leadership event in August.
Three lucky boys won our raffle and took home Japan goodies to their families. We were able to raise $1,085.
Yesterday the teens made popcorn and lemonade and hosted movie night to raise a little more. They managed to collect another $295 bringing their total to $1,380.
Thank you very much!
The teens would like to host movie night again next month to keep raising money for their trip.
The next movie night will be May 27th. It's time to plan your next date night!
Intensive kids classes with Megan sensei
We are inviting our friend, Megan Sekiya, 1st dan to teach our students who are green belt and up. Megan sensei is a young and energetic woman from Vancouver West Aikikai. Most of our teens have met her in the past and she is excited to return to Squamish. She will be back in Canada this coming month after her 3 week training trip to Japan with lots to share.
A couple of our teens are also planning to teach yellow-belt and orange-belt students that weekend.
Space will be limited, so let me know if you want to save a spot for your kid!
