Seminar Venue and Campus Map
Classes take place at the Recreation Complex (RecPlex) on Capilano University's Squamish campus, 3220 University Blvd.
There are showers, lockers, and a water fountain available. Please wear flip-flops, sandals, or indoor shoes in the gym (dojo area).
There are two ways to access RecPlex:
From Village Drive/Helfand Way — recommended for those staying in the Ossa Building. (Photo 1 below)
Through Parking Lot B. (Photo 2 below)
If you are staying on campus, please check in at the Library Building. Your accommodation will be in the Ossa Building.

Accommodation and check-in
Seminar participants staying at The Lodges at CapU will be in the Ossa Building. On arrival, go first to the Library Building, 3200 University Blvd, Squamish, BC, to check in; do not go directly to Ossa.
Check-in begins at 4 pm and check-out is 11 am. Guests will receive check-in information closer to their arrival. Early check-in and late check-out may be available on request, subject to availability.
Front Desk hours (10 am - 5:30 pm), If you arrive after hours Campus Security can assist with check-in and key collection. The Front Desk number is 778-222-1540; the 24-hour Security number is 778-266-1045.

Each floor has a shared kitchenette and lounge with a refrigerator, microwave, kettle, toaster, sink, and dish soap. Complimentary coffee supplies and a coffee maker are provided in the lounge on each floor. Supplies are refilled daily, including on weekends, so you can make your own coffee throughout your stay.
Laundry facilities are free to use in the laundry room on the third floor. Detergent is not complimentary; single-load detergent is available at the Front Desk for $1.50.
Fresh linens and towels and coat hangers are provided. Hair dryers and irons are available on request. Quiet hours are 10:00 pm –8:00 am, and smoking is not permitted inside The Lodges.
Parking
Campus parking is $8 per day. The map marks lots A, B, C, and D; follow the posted signs and payment instructions when you arrive. Lot D is shown as underground on the campus map.
Parking Lot B is the closest parking lot to the training venue, but there are only 38 parking spaces available. Please arrive early to secure a parking spot.
Food and weekend meals
Routes Eatery will be closed Saturday and Sunday. Please plan ahead for weekend meals. We will update this page when these options are confirmed:
Saturday breakfast — We will bring all pre-ordered breakfast items to the shared kitchenette and lounge on the first floor of the Ossa Building at 7 am. Please order your breakfast here. Pre-order deadline: October 12th (Mon)
Complimentary coffee supplies and a coffee maker are provided by the university in the lounge on each floor.
Saturday lunch — Combo of Yakisoba (Japanese noodle stir-fried dish) and choice of rice bowl, chicken, pork, or tofu. Gluten-free and Vegan options are available. $21.5 including tax and tip.
Lunch break is only 1 hour and 50 minutes, so save time by pre-ordering your lunch!If you order in advance, you won’t need to go anywhere or wait for your lunch to be prepared.

The Saturday banquet is full.

Guests staying on campus can use the shared kitchenettes for simple meals and snacks.
There are no restaurants immediately beside campus. The accommodation guide suggests cafés and restaurants in Squamish, including options in Brackendale and downtown, generally a short drive away. Glenalder Place has a grocery store and other essentials. Food delivery is another option. Please check each business's current hours before making plans.
Adventure Centre pickup and drop-off
Arriving by shuttle at the Squamish Adventure Centre? Aikidaily can arrange pickup and drop-off between the Adventure Centre and Capilano University. Please send us your arrival and departure details in advance.

Seminar T-shirts
We will be selling two T-shirts at the seminar: the CAF Fall Seminar T-shirt and the Aikidaily 10 Year Anniversary T-shirt. If you did not preorder, we recommend buying early for the best chance of getting your size and preferred colour. Sizes and colours are subject to availability.

If you have free time, Squamish offers plenty to explore. Here are more details.
Shannon Falls — an easy walk to the waterfall.
Sea to Sky Gondola — views of Howe Sound and walking trails.
Squamish Canyon — views of Mamquam Falls
Stawamus Chief — a steep, rewarding hike if you have enough time and suitable footwear.
Downtown Squamish — cafés, shops, and restaurants.
Check opening hours, weather, and trail conditions before heading out.

For a meal or coffee away from campus, here are some local places to consider:

Taka Ramen + Sushi — the Best ramen and sushi in Squamish.
Essence of India — the Best indian curry in Squamish.
Fergie’s Cafe — brunch after the seminar in a beautiful forest setting
Fox & Oak — coffee and handcrafted, naturally leavened doughnuts (vegan, GF options available)
Local breweries and brewpubs:
A-FRAME Brewing — a relaxed taproom; check whether its food truck is serving if you want a meal.
Backcountry Brewing — craft beer and a food menu.
House of Lager — brewery and restaurant with views of Howe Sound.
Howe Sound Brewing — a Squamish brewpub with a kitchen.
