AikiBlaze with Grant Babin and Myrna Harrod-Taniguti

Grant Babin (4th dan, Aikikai and Chief Instructor of Aikidaily International Academy) and Myrna Harrod-Taniguti (2nd dan, Aikikai and Chief Instructor of Clearwater AIkikai) will be teaching the last AikiBlaze class to be held this Spring. In their 90-min Zoom class, Grant and Myrna will introduce some physiological and meta-concepts to help you create your own rewarding and efficient Aikido practice. Grant Sensei will be using a bokken for part of his class, but a shorter replacement item can be used if space limitations are a concern.

Practitioners of all levels and Aikikai affiliations are welcome! Students are asked to wear a keikogi if possible

Date: Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 3 PM PDT

Cost: A donation of $10/household is recommended, with proceeds going to support the Chrysalis Project.

Family Day Special Class

We will be having a special class for families on 17th, Monday.

Other family members (adults and children) are welcome to join the class and do aikido with our students. If they are not already involved, this is a good opportunity to introduce them to it.

The class will be from 11 am to noon.

Etsunen Geiko - New Year's Eve Aikido Practice and Celebration

Time: December 31, 11:30 pm - 1:30 am

Class: 11:30 pm-12:30 am

Celebration: 12:30 am- 1:30 am

Japanese Sake provided.

Once again, we will be saying goodbye to the past year and welcoming the new one in the best way ever: ON THE MATS.

Come join us in this traditional year end practice followed by light snacks and a toast.

*Every year, the Aikikai World Headquarters hosts a very special tradition called "Etsunen Geiko" (year-end practice). Aikido practitioners gather from far and wide to train together during the last half hour of the year and first half hour of the next. After class, they celebrate the start of the year with light snacks and Japanese sake. 

Kids Bokken (wooden sword) Class

Many of Aikido's movements are based on sword applications. In this course, students will explore basic body movements using bokken to deepen their understanding of certain principles applied to aikido’s open hand techniques.
